Austin TX Portrait Session: Spring Bluebonnets

April 16, 2018

This is Karla’s second year as an Austin resident, and her first experience being lost in a sea of Texas hill country wildflowers. I’m really glad I ended up being able to find her again…it would have sucked to lose a client during a photo shoot!

Together we went out with the goal of finding the quintessential bluebonnet shots and ended up producing something a bit more whimsical, with a touch of fantasy.  We both loved the results!

Secret little nooks are always one of my favorite things to happen across during spring portrait sessions in Austin TX!  On this shoot Karla and I got lucky enough to wander across a secluded field that was covered in bluebonnets broken up by splashes of yellow and green. The light was perfect, and the setting felt like a celebration of Spring.  New life was blooming everywhere you looked!  Karla looked beautiful encased in bluebonnets, you could see the joy on her face to finally be back in the sun and out of the Winter!

I think Karla’s personality really came through in a number of the photos, she was an absolute pleasure to shoot!  Getting to photograph her reminded me just how much I love my job!
